We’re hiring a Technical Program Manager to help plan and coordinate the activities of various projects, releases and initiatives within Product Development as part of the Product Operations team.  This role will ideally be based in Toronto, reporting to the Sr. Director, Product Operations.  

As a Technical Program Manager, you will work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Operations and Business teams to deliver new product features, capabilities or technologies to our customers. You will collaborate directly with Product Managers and Engineering teams to form clear, holistic implementation plans aligned to our roadmaps and to help manage deliverables on schedule and at high quality.  You will closely partner with our Release Manager and other Program/Project Managers to help form an overall view of program/project interdependencies and efforts occurring in similar time frames to optimize our joint delivery schedules. You will learn the detailed Release Management processes we have and take the lead on these activities in certain areas where needed to help us scale efficiently.  You will further your impact by helping us evolve the way we deliver and release products and features to market as part of an exciting and dynamic scale-up organization. In doing this, you will inherently know when to lead, when to support, how to get team buy-in, manage and adapt to change and proactively communicate with stakeholders and Executives.  Above all, you will build positive working relationships with cross-functional team members to achieve the best possible outcomes for our customers and our business.   

What You Will Be Doing

  • Deliver and support multiple projects and programs on target schedule and at high quality
  • Set up, plan, organize, execute, manage and report on all program/project activities that are necessary to help teams successfully release product features to market on time and at high quality
  • Use your technical background to ensure project release complexities and various inter-dependencies are understood and managed 
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Product Management, internal business, customer-facing and Executive stakeholders to establish, track, check in and clearly communicate product deliverables, milestones and dependencies throughout the entire development and release process
  • Stay in touch and aligned on product and development pod Sprint planning and product roadmap prioritization
  • Build a strong, working knowledge of Release Management processes, tools and communications across product lines and components to take on product release logistics where needed
  • Help form and maintain the aggregated Program Management Planning calendar, building an overall view of key programs and initiatives in flight and planned 
  • Use your technical background and product knowledge to continuously identify risks, issues, blockers and drive their resolution
  • Provide input into the software delivery life cycle processes and champion standard methodologies, metrics and high-quality standards within our Product Development organization
  • Maintain consistently high standards of communication, productivity and teamwork

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science an asset or related field / technical studies
  • 3-5 years of technical program/project management and Agile/Scrum experiencein the development of SaaS and On Prem software products
  • Astute, adaptive and pragmatic organization, process and problem-solving skills that are attuned to current and future business needs
  • Ability to traverse high-level, strategic work and low-level, tactical work comfortably and within a dynamic, changing environment
  • High degree of responsibility, self-motivation and ability to work on multiple, concurrent projects with minimal supervision
  • Strong, proactive communication skills and ability to work well with a variety of individual contributor, product leader and executive stakeholders to clearly align goals, plans, decisions and outcomes
  • Experience in software development, release management and project/program management fundamentals
  • Knowledge of cloud-based solutions and architecture, product development build processes, project management, and release models
  • Experience working with project management tools, JIRA, GitHub, Google Suite tools, Smartsheet, Miro
  • PMP certification and machine learning/AI experience is a plus
