As Sr. IT Operations Manager, you’ll manage and oversee daily IT production operations in a fast-paced environment within DoD logistics. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or IT Operations Center, ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of IT systems and services. This role involves leading operational processes, monitoring critical infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain seamless IT operations.

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee daily IT production operations, ensuring high availability and performance of critical systems and services.
  • Manage and monitor IT infrastructure, networks, and applications within a Network Operations Center (NOC) or IT Operations Center.
  • Respond to incidents, identify root causes, and implement solutions to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
  • Lead and mentor a team of IT operations staff, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and incident management processes to improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams, including engineering and security, to resolve technical issues and implement changes.
  • Monitor system alerts, logs, and metrics to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Prepare and present operational performance reports and metrics to leadership.
  • Manage change management and maintenance schedules to minimize disruption to IT services.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and industry best practices.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or Business Operations, or equivalent experience.
  • You currently hold the ITIL4 Practice Manager: Plan, Implement, and Control Certification.
  • 5+ years managing daily IT production operations ensuring system achieves established performance objectives.
  • 7+ years’ experience working in a network operations or IT operations center.
  • 5+ years’ experience implementing IT operations concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, virtualization, and cloud environments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
  • Ability to easily communicate recommendations and issues to high-level General Officers/executives to influence decisions that support the organization's overall strategic plan
  • Proven experience managing and troubleshooting IT systems, networks, and applications.
