You will lead PR for BCG in London and help drive best practice across our wider London-Amsterdam-Brussels ‘system’, promoting the best of BCG in terms of thought leadership and topic experts to core media (print, online, broadcast and trade). You will provide positioning and strategic advice to over 100 Managing Directors and Partners (MDPs) and their teams across ~20 Practice Areas (PAs). Working with the LAB PR Director,, the wider LAB Marketing Team, Global Positioning and External Communications Team, you will support the continued growth of BCG in the region by nurturing and protecting an outstanding brand and continuing to raise the bar for both the impact and operations of PR across LAB.

You will:
• Develop, gain buy-in for and implement LAB’s PR strategy, driving forward the pro-active media relations programme and protecting the brand
• Work alongside the LAB Marketing Team and Global PR teams to raise the profile of BCG’s experts and thought leadership, as well as provide pro-active counsel and manage PR needs arising from local events
• Run the day-to-day BCG London press office and help oversee the press offices in Amsterdam and Brussels, handling incoming media queries and liaising directly with MDPs to prepare for and react to media opportunities
• Work alongside senior stakeholders to proactively monitor and manage reputational risk, provide strategic counsel, ensure case teams are following risk management protocols, handle press enquiries and work alongside client communications teams and digital experts where needed
• Manage local PR agency, including one off projects and longer media relations engagement
• Allocate annual PR budget and manage third party relationships, including PR agency, media monitoring systems and press subscriptions
• Collaborate with global and local country PR teams to drive a step-change in media relations across the business
• Develop and maintain BCG's network of media contacts focusing on the global titles based in the UK, national press, and key industry specialist titles
• Where appropriate, proactively pitch story ideas from a busy pipeline of BCG research and published content, with a specific focus on the UK
• Oversee the media training of MDPs and prepare experts for media interactions, including attending interviews and meetings, and preparing briefing documents
• Edit or draft press releases and commentary on behalf of BCG spokespeople where required
• Take ownership of impact, proactively measuring media engagement, quality of coverage and alignment with GTM programmes. As part of this, oversee the logging of media clips by a supporting member of the marketing team, as well as reporting to the business on BCG and competitor coverage


• Communication, relationship building and stakeholder engagement with individuals of varying levels of seniority, spread across different geographies – necessary to constructively challenge where appropriate
• Growing and nurturing a network of strong relationships with leading journalists, particularly in the UK
• Formulating an articulate viewpoint on complicated issues, creating a concise and well-written narrative to express this opinion
• Summarising the important stories on the UK news agenda at any given time and identifying potential angles to align corporate content i.e. finding the story
• Quickly establishing a good understanding of a wide variety of industries
• Problem solving, creative thinking and flexibility of approach
• Writing and copy editing: prioritising messages and adapting style for different voices, audiences and objectives
• Staying organised and making progress amidst a high volume of complex projects and stakeholders
• Maintaining high quality standards under pressure
• Displaying a strong work ethic, service-mentality, and autonomous drive

• BA / Masters preferred, at least 7+ years of B2B press experience ideally in professional services environment, agency or similar
• Demonstrable experience building strong relationships with target UK and European media
• Strong track record delivering and supporting campaigns across earned, owned and paid media
• Excellent understanding of the components of a B2B news piece, article, feature, op-ed or by-lined comment piece
• Genuine interest and knowledge of the UK media ecosystem and cycle

• Report into LAB PR Director and work closely with the LAB Marketing Team
• Global Positioning and External Communications Team, particularly the Global Head of External Communications and European Media Relations Lead
