KIra Systems is looking for a People Business Partner who will be a strategic partner to multiple client groups, providing them with sound HR advice to solve complex organizational and people challenges, while maintaining and improving our robust programs and initiatives. As an integral part of the People Team, this individual will report to the Director of People and Programs and also participate in multiple People Team projects. 

What you will be doing

  • Partners with client groups, people team, managers, and employees to provide HR advice and make recommendations as necessary throughout the employee lifecycle
  • Collaborates with People Team specialist roles. For example: Payroll for employee changes, new hire updates and benefits administration; Compensation for reporting and salary survey support; Talent Acquisition for new hire set up, background checks and orientation.
  • Updating and building procedures and policy documents alongside the People Team 
  • Makes evidence-based decisions
  • Manages performance management throughout the employee lifecycle
  • Manages the rollout of some People programs, policies, and initiatives to ensure consistent implementation and application of programs

What you bring

  • 5+ years of experience of relevant HR Business Partner experience owning and partnering with client groups as a trusted advisor
  • Exceptional listening skills and ability to partner with diverse client groups and employees at all levels 
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or equivalent experience. CHRP designation is an asset
  • Experience with Canadian employment law (US and UK is an asset) 
  • Experience providing HR advice and solutions to senior leaders to support employees or organizational issues
  • Strong project management experience as a self-starter, problem-solver, and team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator Ability to work independently, as well as an active member of both business and HR teams
  • Capacity to navigate ambiguity and find creative solutions.
  • Comfortable working virtually
  • Extremely trustworthy and capable of handling highly sensitive and confidential information
