WHAT YOU'LL DO

Climate & Sustainability (C&S) is a new functional practice area (PA) within BCG. The firm’s leadership has made this new business area a priority for growth, focused on delivering impact and accelerating the path to a Net Zero world, while increasing revenues from this type of work 5-10x in the next several years. In addition to aligning our hiring strategy to support these aspirations, there is a need to upskill our existing workforce in this area as well.

The Global Learning & Development (L&D) team is working with the C&S PA leadership to set the broader upskilling strategy, the C&S Academy, and begin its execution. To provide ongoing support of this initiative we are developing a C&S specific L&D team.

Part of the upskilling strategy includes working with external university partners and our own client-facing upskilling team, BCG-U, to develop programs that BCG employees will have an opportunity to be nominated for or apply to. We expect multiple cohorts a year to participate in these program. While this role to evolve with the needs of the business, the initial focus will be as follows:
  • Managing the application processes and making approval decisions
  • Overseeing the participant management (done by another team member), including coordinating class scheduling, once they have been accepted to a program
  • Owning the communication channel strategy (Slack, email, Edcast, etc.) and thinking about how we evolve these in the future
  • Tracking participant engagement to ensure they meet requirements for sync and async components of the program
  • Creating community learning opportunities for program participants to deepen their C&S affiliations within the BCG network
  • Upon BCG participants completion of the course, you will also be responsible for ensuring our talent management team prioritizes these participants for staffing on C&S related projects – specific requirements still to be defined
  • Managing partner relationships (universities, BCG-U), working in tight coordination with C&S PA leadership and the C&S Academy owner
  • Given the intimate knowledge of this part of the C&S upskilling strategy you will gain, we also expect you to work with the team leading the credential development effort to support in its design and execution
  • Be the cereal connector to the global activities on this topic. Aligning across all regions for consistent processes and practices.
  • Line management of one C&S Coordinator to help on the above tasks

You’ll work closely with a variety of stakeholders beyond university partners and BCG-U, including the C&S PA leadership, the Global L&D leadership and communications team, our deep pool of C&S topic experts, our C&S product owners, and the other members of the C&S Academy team

You will have the unique opportunity to work with BCG’s thought leaders and help to transform our proprietary knowledge into best-in-class and innovative learning experiences for our BCGers to enable them to thrive and supporting this exciting next step in the firm’s history.
